ABOUT US

Koun Khmer Foundation is committed to expanding educational opportunities for Khmer children. We are passionate about promoting higher education and offering financial assistance to students who face economic barriers in attending college or university.

Founded on November 28, 2019—Thanksgiving Day—a group of dedicated Khmer families and friends in California, USA.  Our organization is rooted in the belief that quality education leads to brighter futures for the next generation. It is the first Khmer organization in the area that focuses deeply on the importance of education and the future of our children.

Our primary founders are: Trieu Uong, Tuan Son, Robert Thach, Mooney Son, Francis Kim, Paul Kien, Thanh Son, Tommy Svay, Charlie Kien and Rixon Kien.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to help Khmer children attain the highest levels of education possible. We believe that with higher education, our youth can uplift themselves and their communities. At Koun Khmer Foundation, we stand by the principle of Education First. Through collaboration and support, we strive to create better opportunities for our children’s success.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to empower Khmer youth to reach their full educational potential. By helping them succeed academically, we enable them to build better futures for themselves—and to give back to their communities for generations to come.
